The Limits of Moral Outrage

You've got to love Kim Gandy, the president of the National Organization for Women. As part of the reams of papers that were released for perusal as a part of the confirmation process for Judge Roberts was a memorandum drafted by him explaining why it was appropriate to have a Reagan administration official accept an award commending her for moving from being a housewife to a lawyer. In the memorandum Roberts commented - "Some might question whether encouraging homemakers to become lawyers contributes to the common good, but I suppose that is for the judges to decide." Ms. Gandy, got on her moral high horse (most probably on the back end) to scold him as a "neanderthal" presumably because she read into his remarks that women should stay in the kitchen. Ms. Gandy should get a life.
