In an article in the Sacramento Bee this morning there was the following headline - Lungren raises double what Matsui pulls in. But then you read the story and you find out that Lungren indeed raised $123,000 in the last quarter compared to Matsui's $56,000. But Doris has $252,000 in the bank compared to Lungren's $204,000. The followup headline is even more curious - Doolittle to face a challenger in the primary - it turns out that a city councilman from Auburn has raised $9400 and loaned himself another $10,000 leaving him with $4400 in the bank. Doolittle has raised $66,000 during the same period and has $210,000 in the bank. But then there is the clincher - Mike Thompson - who represents part of the Bee's readership area has raised $150,000 during the period and has $857,000 in the bank.
Quick - without looking can you guess which party each of the people is from and whether in the Doolittle district whether the Bee is favorably disposed to the Congressman?
Hint - the Bee is almost religious in it devotion to candidates from the Democrat party.
