Senator Feingold's Bizarre Comment on Alito

This morning I was watching the final discussions in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Judge Alito and Senator Feingold seemed to say something very odd. He argued that we should not confirm a judge who uses personal judgement - as opposed to Constitutional principles to decide cases. Does that mean he voted against Breyer and Ginsberg?
