In recent weeks two prominent democrats have shown their true colors. First, Hillary in an MLK speech made a veiled (or not so veiled) reference to the "plantation" run by the GOP in the Congress - ending it with the code phrase "you know what I mean." Then comes Ken Salazar, the light weight senator from Colorado, who made a degrading reference to Justice Thomas yesterday in trying to explain why he was voting against Judge Alito. Thomas has written some very good stuff while he has been on the court. But the liberals, like Salazar, won't give him any peace because that is not the way that Blacks are supposed to act.
When Salazar ran for office, against Pete Coors, he clothed himself in the moderate cloth that would sell him in the state. But as he has operated in DC he has shown who he really is. Hillary, too, when she is trying to build her national campaign tries to put herself in the same moderate suit. But I don't think on a national basis many people will be fooled.
