All the people here are frauds
Tonight California executed Tookie Williams. The Governor, earlier in the day, refused clemency in a detailed statement that was actually pretty good and very thorough. I was in LA tonight with some colleagues from Spain. After I dropped them at dinner, I had to circle back to the airport to pick up a college president who had flown down to meet them. What struck me the most was how three radio hosts made a mockery of this event. John and Ken(the afternoon hosts) and then John Ziegler (From 640 KFI) were almost gleeful in their commentary about the pending execution. At one point they commented that all the people there were frauds. Indeed that was true. The three were gleeful at being able to point out that luminaries like Jesse Jackson could not name any of the victims of this quadruple murderer. Jackson is a fraud and a buffoon. But the irony of saying that all the people there were frauds was seemingly lost on them. Because they were (are) frauds too.
