Jessica's Church
Tonight my wife and I and Mason went to the our son's fiancee's church up in Placerville. It was musical service with about a dozen praise songs. This is not the kind of music that I normally like but the energy in this service was palpable. The group- which was about 30 times the size of our own parish - was pretty mixed. There were lots of young kids. The music was rock based - mostly in the same key - but with a nice range of voices and a couple of songs that I thought were really inspirational. They had one bible reading - from the modern bible - and a couple of prayers and lots of music. The whole event was very positive. I guess I have a better idea why many of the evangelical churches are so successful.
